Conversation with Character

Quotes with Character

"Will truly have an impact."

The Bottom Line - Conversation with Character is a unique curriculum designed to train children in the art of conversation. It is an effective method to give your children the conversation skills they need.

Guide Review - Conversation with Character
Conversation with Character is a full-year language arts curriculum for ages 9 to 15 for training your children in the art of conversation. The book supplies organized, bite-sized concepts with fun activities for each lesson. It is designed to introduce one lesson per week and to practice the skills learned throughout the week. The goal of the book is to help your child weed out bad habits that hinder loving communication and cultivate good habits. It is important to train your children to choose their words wisely and use them properly.

The lessons are laid out in an easy-to-use manner. There are games provided for reinforcing the skills learned and suggestions for practicing the lessons throughout the day. Each lesson includes a Bible verse for memorization and to reinforce the lesson. Fun activities are included in each lesson making the lesson come to life and leave a lasting impression.

Conversation with Character builds confidence for any conversational setting. It will help provide your children with the skills needed for conversations from start to finish. This is the only curriculum I've seen that teaches the art of conversation in such a way that will truly have an impact and change the course of conversation.

"Wisdom to draw on for a lifetime."

The Bottom Line - Quotes with Character provides 201 quotes - a quote a day for the entire school year. It's an excellent addition to your library providing practice in handwriting, language arts and speech.

Guide Review - Quotes with Character was compiled by Derri Smith to provide a handwriting exercise for her children that also filled their minds with good things. The quotes give the child a storehouse of wisdom to draw on for a lifetime. The quotes are from many sources, including: Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Dwight L. Moody, Jim Elliot, Helen Keller, Abigail Adams, Corrie Ten Boom, Abraham Lincoln, John Wesley, Galileo, William Butler Yeats, Shakespeare. Writing the quotes daily not only provides handwriting practice, but also increases skills in spelling, grammar, capitalization and punctuation. Rather it be by dictation, copying, or from memory, writing the daily quote is a good exercise.

Although the book stands alone, it is a companion to "Conversation with Character."

"Build a strong bond in the relationship of mother and child."

The Bottom Line - I Remember Mama is a sweet little book with simple ideas for making happy wholesome memories with your little ones.

Guide Review - Bethany Smith shares ideas and memories from her own childhood. Her mother kept a small blue index box of ideas she thought of or came across in her reading. Bethany has compiled these ideas in a little book for others to share with their little ones and make memories of their own. Some of the activities are educational, some are even useful, but the main point of the book is to help build a strong bond in the relationship of mother and child.
